Technology Reflection - Cooking

WAL how to make Rock Cake.
Today was a very independent day, Mrs Tuipulotu let us do all the work, all we had to do was to follow the instructions on the board and follow the measurements of ingredients on the board. The ingredients that we used today was... milk, coconut, sugar, flour, oil and eggs. We had to add in the right amount of ingredients for the rock cakes to taste good, me and my cooking partner found this a little bit challenging because we were trying to add the exact ingredients so our rock cake would turn out too look good and taste good, after our rock cake was ready it was very flat and the cake was supposed to look puffy but instead it looked like a flat pancake Lol, our cooking teacher said that our mixture was too runny that's why it was to wet to hold hits original shape in the oven. Food Technology Reflection - Nachos

WAL how to make Nachos
Today for food technology we were making Nachos. The ingredients that I used today were... capsikins, peppers, mince, cheese, onions and nachos. We had to slow cook all of these ingredients so it wouldn't burn, so coking this would've took longer than it would if it was on a high temperature. When me and my buddy were in the steps of making this dish, everytime we added each ingredient in it kept smelling better and better. Junior Buddy Class Task - Diwali Research

Today I was working with my junior buddy, we were researching about the Diwali festival. Diwali is a special Indian celebration and it is very sacred to the Indian culture. Food Technology Reflection

WAL how to make blueberry muffins.
Today I was making blueberry muffins, the ingredients that I used today was... Plain flour, baking powder, sugar, oil, egg, milk, vanilla essence and fresh blueberries. In the process and the steps of making the muffins there was a specific way of mixing or stirring the ingredients together. After our muffins finishes baking for 15m they turned out too look very good. Tamaki Improvement Brainstorm

Today we were brainstorming on what makes Tamaki Primary special and how can we make Tamaki Primary a better place, here are somethings that our class came up with today....

- Renovate the hall and make it bigger.

- Actually show the school values

- Purchase more sports equipment

- Follow the school rules at all times

- Show the school values at all times
- Everyone should be a role model to younger ones

- Make learning more fun
- And have a growth mindset towards all learning and activities around the school.

Kiwisport Reflection - Basketball

WAL how to play basketball and we are going to improve in our basketball skills.

Today for Kiwisport we had basketball, today we were learning the basics of basketball, things like passing skills, dribbling the ball, crossovers through the legs and much, much more. While I was playing I was learning that basket is a very tiring sport and it keeps you very fit if you professionally play. Basketball is a very competitive sport and includes lots of sprinting and hand maneuvers with your hands and fingers. Today we were having race to see who could get to 15 points the fastests in shooting points, the instructors splitted us up in to a boys team and girls team... of course the boys won. Today I really enjoyed our Kiwisport session and it really got our blood pumping, I think next time I could work on controlling the ball more and i'll be sweet. Book Reflection - Fireworks Art

Today I was learning and reading about the art of fireworks.
Today I read about fireworks, I learnt that in Australia they have lots of fireworks on special events like Chinese new year, Christmas eve, New years eve, Australian day and much, much more. I learnt about a very known fireworks company called Forti Fireworks, there business is a family company and has been alive for generations. I also learnt that in the process of setting up fireworks for a big event is that there is alot of wiring that happens while they are setting it up. Food Technology Reflection

WAL to make burgers the professional way.
Today I was making burgers, in my burger there was egg, ham, lettuce, tomato, sauce and cheese. Today we were learning how to bake and cook the ingredients and we also learnt how to tell that the bun is cooked properly. We had to put the ingredients in a order... 1. The bottom bun is at the bottom which is the start, 2. was the lettuce, 3. Tomatoes, 4. Eggs, 5. Sauce, 6. Ham & Cheese, 7. left over tomatoes and 8. was the top bun. Holiday Poem

Maths With Mrs Pine - Reflection

Today I was in the Maths session with Mrs Pine, she was in our class because she was observing Miss Aireen in Maths, Today we were assigned with a maths Problem and this was the problem... Sevens bars to the four children. First each child gets 1 bar each and already for bars are eliminated, so there was 3 bars left. Then our group cut the 3 bars into equal 4's for each bar, then we gave the remain pieces to the children and each child ended up receiving... 1 1/4. Loud Shirt Day - Reflection of What I learnt

This coming Friday we are celebrating the Loud Shirt Day too support the deaf people among our country. Today I was learning about what Loud Shirt Day is, Loud Shirt day is a day to embrace and celebrate the deaf people that we have in our country. We celebrate by wearing bright clothes and amazing outfits like onesies and more. Some key ideas that our class came up with is... Bright Clothing, mexican fiesta, ears, animal onesies, celebrating, hearing aids, build team spirit and many, many more. I think the Loud Shirt Day is a very good thing to celebrate and to embrace the deaf people.

Kiwican Reflection

Today in Kiwican we didn't have a proper session, we watched a  movie because it was the last session for the term. Today Room 9&10 combined and we all watched Wreck it Ralph, Wreck it Ralph was a funny and exciting movie. The Movie was about Ralph living in his own game.... but in his game he is the bad guy, he always gets rejected, people think hes not nice, but he is actually a good person. In his game he doesn't live a equal life with the others that are good, the others live in the penthouse and Ralph lives in the rubbish, he lives in bricks and sleeps on bricks. Ralph has a good heart but he is a bad person which he is from the programe in his game, he's a bad guy with a good heart and wants to be a good guy. A big message that stands out in the movie is... A bad person may have done bad things in the past, but never judge them because some people that have done the wrong thing have a good heart, its just that they didn't think about what they were doing before when they made their decision. I recommend you to watch this movie if you haven't seen it yet, it is a very entertaining story and it has a very good moral behind the movie.

Reflection on my Day.

Today I was working on my Student Councilor Movie, I was editing and filming scenes that were related to doing the wrong thing for example... Running in the corridors and disturbing other classes, the actors were some of my classmates. After filming the scenes that had the main actors doing bad things, later on I filmed and directed them to the right things. It started off with them running and a pair of to responsible students told them not to run, so they carried on doing the right things throughout the rest of the film. Miss Aireen was very kind of giving us the whole day to edit and film because we only began our film in the last block yesterday. I wasn't able to attend the last swimming session today due to me catching the flu, but I used that time to edit and film to get the job done. All of this work was for a student council project that needed us to make a film that was based on behaviour in the corridors, toilets and stair wells. Then the teachers would select a film that stood out the most and the winning group will get taken out to lunch and you can choose what you want as your meal. I think our group did pretty well and I think we did really well to get the whole movie done in 3 blocks. I hope our group wins so we can say that will helped the school and our community... And also because I want to have a nice feed, Lol. Tomorrow our class is celebrating Chinese Language Week, I can't wait for another day at Tamaki Primary School tomorow, well thats my day, cant wait for what the day unfolds for me tomorrow.

Life Education Reflection

WAL about how our body works, what it does and what we can do to keep it healthy.
Today we had our last session in the Life Education van, it was a very fun session and we learnt lots of new things. We were writing down the decisions that we would have to make in the future, we were also writing down our goals and the things we would like to achieve when we are older. And then we had to write the ways and a plan of how we were going to achieve our goal in the future, my goal is to become a Barber when I grow up, I am going to get there by finishing college successfully and then going to Hairdressing school and graduate as a Barber. My second goal is to become a Part-time Music Producer, I am going to get there by finishing college and I will get some money either from my Parent's to buy the Studio equipment and once I make some money out of Music I will pay them back.
